The preparation of the physically handicapped child for work as part of the occupational therapy programme

By du Toit, V

This is one of Vona's earlier papers, hence the terminology is relevant to the time.

This paper explores the invaluable role of OT, at the time, in enabling individuals with physical impairments to develop skills through a rehabilitation programme specifically focused on work readiness. Vona talks with much passion about exploring the individuals abilities to grow new talent rather than being a burden on the community. She discusses the core skills of OT and the skills required to enable individuals to reach their potential through carefull assessment, adaptation and grading of activities.
