The background theory related to creative ability which leads to work capacity within the context of the occupational therapy for the cerebral palsied

By du Toit, V

This original paper written by Vona du Toit, initially provides an overview of creative ability. It relates the concept creative ability to the treatment of children with cerebral palsy, highlighting the problems of the child in order to indicate why the stimulation and growth of creative ability is of paramount importance. Du Toit (1972) acknowledges how IQ can devastatingly influence creative capacity and demonstrates this through the symptomology and impact on creative ability. She further advises the therapist must carefully select and grade activities which stimulate the child, stressing that exertion of maximum effort will increase creative ability.
