A literature search and research proposal, focusing on adults with acquired brain injury (ABI). 24 articles were selected as meeting the criteria of focus on one OT specific model with one client group and 11 of these further screened for critical appraisal. 6 out of the 24 related to the VdTMoCA, two of which having some reference to ABI. Overall findings from the literature search indicated that there was very little evidence for the use of the VdTMoCA in ABI, but it was proposed that the model’s unique focus on motivation and aspects such as task concept could be beneficial to therapists working with this client group. The dissertation concludes with a research proposal to understand OTs perceptions of the use of the VdTMoCA in ABI settings.
